Mindset Teams gains GTCS recognition

Winning Scotland’s Mindset Teams programme, a professional learning approach for both teachers and education leaders, has gained official accreditation from the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).

Mindset Teams is our unique, immersive blended learning programme that supports classroom teachers and school leadership to work together in teams to create a growth mindset learning environment across subjects and throughout whole schools.

In gaining the award, Mindset Teams is now:

• Professionally recognised by GTCS, Scotland’s leading self-regulating body for teaching
• Endorsed by Education Scotland, the national agency charged with supporting quality and improvement in Scottish education.
• Accredited at Masters Level 11 (15 points) by Glasgow Caledonian University

The GTCS awards panel gave the following commendations to the Mindset Teams programme:
 

• The engagement with the panel and the depth of knowledge of the programme leaders.

 

• A dynamic learning programme that aims to meet the need of the participants and is well supported by individualised support and feedback from the programme tutors.

 

• A well-designed programme informed by partnership working with its rational clearly embedded in the Scottish Education context to support STEM, health and wellbeing, numeracy and/or literacy and is well aimed at meeting these needs.

 

• The programme is clearly underpinned by the national model of professional learning helping participants challenge assumptions and deepen their learning. The programme has been well developed in line with SCQF Level 11 learning though effective partnership working with Glasgow Caledonian University.

 

• The programme has been developed by active engagement with participants, changes and developments are grounded on feedback, the impact of the professional learning and the learning of the programme tutors.

 
Hundreds of teachers across Scotland are taking part in Mindset Teams, with active cohorts in Dundee, Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire, West Dunbartonshire, the Northern Alliance and the South West EIC.
