Mindset Teams impact report 2022

We've been delivering Mindset Teams programmes all across Scotland in 2022. Our impact report demonstrates huge shifts in teacher perception and confidence.

Our 2022 Mindset Teams impact report presents a range of positive changes in the settings of 290 teachers across 24 Scottish local authorities.

Mindset Teams is a professional learning approach that enables teaching practitioners and senior leadership to work together to embed a growth mindset culture in their school.

They form a ‘team’ of three or more staff to complete a 12-month blended learning journey, culminating in a practical project, ensuring growth mindset is implemented both in the classroom and at a strategic level across the school community.
Key stats from a year of growth mindset

  • 79% felt the course made them a better teacher.
  • 74% felt their relationship with pupils improved.
  • 84% said the course content was very relevant or relevant to their teaching practice.

When asked whether some pupils have a knack for learning and some just don’t, prior to the course, 50% of teachers agreed in some form. However post course results show a significant decrease to 10%  agreeing.

When asked whether pupils would improve their ability if they worked hard at it, prior to the course, 51% of teachers agreed in some form. However post course results show a significant increase to 93% agreeing.

You can view an 8-page summary of the report or read the full report (22 pages) below.
